VETi Connectivity: Connected Today, Ready for Tomorrow

Modern homes, offices and commercial buildings depend on reliable connectivity. Computers, security systems, smart devices and audiovisual equipment all require suitable connection points to communicate effectively. A structured approach to data and HDMI connectivity creates a neat installation while supporting current technology and future network requirements.

A data network enables connected devices to exchange information through structured cabling. Wired Ethernet connections are commonly used for desktop computers, laptops, VoIP telephones, wireless access points, network printers and servers. They also support IP security cameras, access control systems, point-of-sale terminals, building management systems and industrial automation equipment. For gaming consoles, smart televisions and media devices, wired connectivity can provide stable performance where low latency is important.

Network speed determines how quickly information can move between devices. Sufficient bandwidth helps large files, technical drawings, videos and system backups transfer efficiently. It also supports cloud platforms, video conferencing, CCTV monitoring, AV-over-IP and other applications that continuously process large amounts of data.

Higher-speed networks can accommodate more connected devices with less congestion. This is increasingly important in smart homes and commercial environments where computers, cameras, sensors, controllers and wireless access points may operate simultaneously. Suitable structured cabling can also support Power over Ethernet, allowing compatible equipment to receive power and data through one cable. This can simplify the infrastructure required for IP telephones, security cameras, access points and access control devices.

Cable selection is critical to network performance. CAT5e supports speeds of up to 1 Gbps over a maximum channel distance of 100 metres and is commonly used for internet access, office networks and VoIP. CAT6 supports 1 Gbps over 100 metres and can deliver 10 Gbps over shorter distances of up to 55 metres. CAT6A supports 10 Gbps over the full 100-metre channel, making it suitable for enterprise networks, data centres and demanding applications.

The cable, connectors and data modules must be compatible with the selected category. Quality cabling helps reduce attenuation, crosstalk and electromagnetic interference, contributing to consistent signal transmission. Product selection should consider the required speed, cable distance, number of devices, environmental conditions and potential expansion of the network.

VETi offers CAT6 and CAT6A connection options for residential and commercial projects. VETi 1 includes modular CAT6 RJ45 data modules in white and black. These modules can be configured in 100 × 100 mm, 100 × 50 mm and Omni Cluster formats. VETi 2 provides complete assembled CAT6 outlets in white or charcoal for standard 100 × 50 mm wall boxes. VETi 3 offers premium complete data outlets and modular CAT6A modules in white, titanium, graphite and bronze.

HDMI provides a complementary solution for multimedia connectivity. It transfers high-definition video and multi-channel digital audio through a single cable, reducing cable clutter and creating a professional connection between compatible devices. Typical applications include televisions, monitors, computers, gaming consoles, projectors, AV receivers, home theatre systems, meeting-room equipment and digital signage.

VETi supplies HDMI 2.0 modules in modular formats for clean, flush-mounted connection points. VETi supplies the data and HDMI modules only and does not perform installations. The complete cabling system should be specified, tested and installed by a suitably qualified network or AV professional.
